Day 281 Matthew 4:23-25; Matthew 8:14-17; Mark 1:21-39;

               Luke  4:31-44

     He healed Simon’s mother along with several others.

Day 282 John 3-5

     In John 3, we see Jesus at odds with Nicodemus.

     In John 4, Christ leaves for Galilee and has a conversation with a Samaritan women.

     In John 5, we see that the Jews are again displeased and a cure at the pool of Bethesda.

Day 283 Matthew 8:-1-4, 9:1-17, 12:1-21; 

               Mark 1:40-45, 2-3:21; Luke 5:12-39, 6:1-19

     In these selection of verses we see multitudes follow Christ, he heals a leper, and He defends his disciples for plucking corn on the Sabbath.  He also heals a man with a withered hand on the Sabbath, Levi is called and the apostles are chosen.

Day 284 Matthew 5-7; Luke 6:20-49, 11:1-13

     In Ma
tthew 5-7, we read the Sermon on the Mount.
     In Luke, we read about the blessings and mercy that Christ extols.  He teaches the disciples to pray and casts out the devil.

Day 285 Matthew 8:5-13, Matthew 11; Luke 7

     In Matthew, we see the servant's hand being healed and Jesus' testimony to John the Baptist.

     In Luke 7, we see the centurion's servant is healed, the widow's son is raised, Jesus is anointed in the house of the Pharisee, and the parable of the 2 debtors. 

Day 286 Matthew 12:22-50; Mark 3:22-35; Luke 8:19-21, 11:14-54

     In Matthew, Jesus heals a person possessed by a demon.

     In Mark, we see the blasphemy of the scribes.

     In Luke, we see Christ casting out the devil and reproving the Jews and the Pharisees.

Lesson 29 Skin & Lesson 30 Cross Section of Skin

For this lesson, I put glue on 4 different areas of his skin.  Yes, we run around barefoot, so please excuse his dirty foot!

When it dried, we peeled it off.

Then I gave him a magnifying glass for him to check out his skin and to see how our skin was different in other areas of our body.

Lesson 31 Fingerprints

For this lesson, I rubbed the lead of a pencil and had him make fingerprints.  I used tape to pull them off of his finger and them placed them on a drawn out hand and on another piece of cut up paper.  Make sure you label the cut up pieces of paper so that YOU know which finger they go to (not the child).

Then, give him a magnifying glass, and see if he can match them up like the pros do!

Lesson 32 The Immune System

For this lesson, we talked about germs and the significance of washing our hands.  I had him put lotion on his hands.  Then, I put glitter on one hand.  I had him touch his other hand.

Now it is on both hands!  Germs spread quick!

We then set off to wash our hands.

All clean!

Lesson 33 Genetics

For this lesson, we did the worksheet that came with the curriculum.

New Pallet Sign!!

     This kitchen remodel has gotten my creative juices flowing!!  Had an extra pallet and got busy designing what I wanted it to say!  

Nice, lovely, beaten up pallet.

Couldn't take a picture while I was using this saws-all, but I hope you get the drift as to what took place!

Lesson 24 The Circulatory System

For this lesson I used this that is out of the workbook that is found here.

Have them sit quietly for a few minutes and see how many beats per minute their blood pumps.  Next have them run in place for a minute and count again.  Then do this again for 6 more minutes.

Lesson 25 The Heart

This is found in the workbook also.  I had him use embroider string to complete.

Lesson 27 The Respiratory System

I had him hold his breath.

Then, I had him blow out the candles.

Lesson 28 The Lungs

     For this lesson, my pictures are MIA.  What we did was I had him blow a balloon up as far as he could with 1 breath.  Then I used string to measure the circumference.  His dad did this and so did I.  Then we compared how much air our lungs held.

-     This marks our last day in the Old Testament!  Ready to start the New Testament!  I don't know about you, but I learned a lot in the past 39 weeks!

Day 274 Nehemiah 11-13; Psalm 126

     Chapter 11 talks about how the people are to be distributed.

     In chapter 12, the Levites and the priests return and the wall is dedicated.

     Chapter 13 shows us the reform of God's house by Nehemiah.

     Psalm 126 talks about the people who have returned from captivity are to be thankful.  Those who are still in captivity are to be encouraged.

Day 275 Psalm 106; John 4:4-14

     In Psalm 106, we read about the happiness of God's people and their rebellions in Canaan.  We read about their prayer for a deliverance.

     This part of John 4 talks about the Samaritan woman.

Day 276 Matthew 1;  Luke 1-2:38

     In Matthew 1 we see the genealogy of Jesus.  We also read about the angel who appears to Joseph.

     In the first part of Luke, we read about Zacharias and Elisabeth and the birth of Christ is announced.

Day 277 Matthew 2; Luke 1:39-52

     Matthew 2 talks about how the wisemen search for Jesus and how the worship him.  It talks about the escape into Egypt and how the moved to Nezareth after Herod's death.

     In the last part of Luke chapter 1 we see the birth of John the Baptist and the song of Zacharias.

Day 278 Matthew 3; Mark 1:1-11; Luke 3; John 1:15-34

     In Matthew 3 we read about John the Baptist and his teaching.  We also see the baptism of Jesus.

  In the first part of Mark 1 we read about the baptism and temptation of Jesus.

     Luke 3 talks about the ministry of John the Baptist, the baptism of Christ, and the genealogy of Jesus.

     In these passages of John 1, talks about John the Baptist and John's testimony concerning Christ.

Day 279     Matthew 4:1-22, 13:54-58; Mark 1:12-20, 6:1-6;
                   Luke 4:1-30, 5:1-11; John 1:35-51, 2:1-12

    In these selection of verses we read about the temptation of Christ, Christ in the synagogue of Nazareth, his appointment of disciples, and the miracle of Cana.

Day 267 Esther 6-10

     Mordecai is given the king's favor.  Haman's counsel honors Mordecai in chapter 6.

     In chapter 7, Esther excuses Haman and then he is hung on his own gallows.

     In chapter 8, Esther makes suit for the Jews and Mordecai is honored.

     In chapter 9 is the feast of Purim.

     In chapter 10 we see that Mordecai is advanced.     

Day 268 Malachi 1-4 Psalm 50

    Chapter 1 shows the ingratitude of Israel.  They are also careless with God's instructions.

     Chapter 2, the priests are reproved for neglecting their covenant.

     Chapter 3, the coming of Christ, God's care for his people. The distinction between the righteous and the wicked is told.

     Chapter 4, the judgements on the wicked and the happiness of the righteous is told.  John the Baptist is also promised to come before the Messiah.

     Psalm 50, is about the glory of God.  Sacrifices to be changed for prayers and that sincere obedience is required.

Day 269 Ezra 7-10

   In chapter 7, Ezra goes to Jerusalem.  Ezra feels bless by God to be in his favor.

     In chapter 8 we see that treasures are committed to the priests and that Ezra arrives in Jerusalem.

     In chapter 9 Ezra mourns for the Jews and their conduct.  We also see the confessions of Ezra's sins.

     In chapter 10, Ezra assembles the people and reformation is encouraged.

Day 270 Nehemiah 1-4

     Chapter 1 is Nehemiah's prayer.

     Chapter 2, we see Nehemiah makes a request to the king and comes to Jerusalem.

     In chapter 3, we see that the walls in Jerusalem are rebuilt.

     In chapter 4, There is opposition from Sanballat and others.  We also see Nehemiah's precautions mentioned.

Day 271 Nehemiah 5-7

     In chapter 5, the Jews complain of their grievances while Nehemiah addresses them.

     Chapter 6, Sanballat plots to hiner Nehemiah.  We also read that the false prophets try to frighten Nehemiah.  The wall is also finished.

     In chapter 7 the city is committed to Hannaniah.

Day 272 Nehemiah 8-10

     In chapter 8, we see that the law is read and the people were called to be joyful.  We also see the feast of the tabernacles.

     In chapter 9 there is a fast and prayer and confession of sin.

     In chapter 10, we see the covenant and who signed it.
