Poppins Book Nook: Ponds, Lakes and Rivers

Welcome back to February's edition of The Poppins Book Nook.  For this month, our theme was Ponds, Lakes, and Rivers.

We chose the book Water Dance
by Thomas Locker.

This book is a cute poem talking about how water moves.  Water makes up 3/4 of the planet and has been the same for thousands of years.  This book explains the water cycle in a poetic form.

This past Saturday we went on a winter hike at a local State Park.  We talked about the flow of the water from the river that we walked beside.  The river flowed from the lake.  Here are some pictures of our hike.

Getting excited for our 6 mile hike!!

For our adventures in Honduras, we made oven baked sweet plantains.

He cut them evenly and then we put them on a cookie sheet and sprayed them with cooking spray.  We baked them at 450 degrees turning occasionally for 10-15 minutes.

I did put honey on them also and they tasted pretty good!
