For the Liberty Bell, you need:

toilet paper roll holder
small cup
pipe cleaner

After running the pipe cleaner through the bell and attaching it.  Then wrap the foil around the cup making it tight.

Feed the pipe cleaner through the cup and toilet paper and attach them together.

Now you have a completed Liberty Bell!

For our kitchen  activity this week, we made Philadelphia cheesesteaks!

First, I fixed a roast in the crockpot.  I set it out to cool and then sliced it thinly.  Then, I set him to work.

He helped me slice the mushrooms and the onions.

Then I had him put it in the skillet with some bacon grease.

Sauteing away!!

Then, he put the meat in another skillet.

Sauteing it up!

Can you say YUMMY looking!!

Putting it all together!!

Adding it to our bread!

Of course swiss cheese.

Please pay no nevermind to the bread we used!  I make homemade sourdough bread and I had left them rising in the oven while we were gone that morning.  Well, needless to say, we were gone longer than we were supposed to, so our hoagie rolls flatten out.  It was a very yummy dinner though!!  Definitely one we will be having again!

Stay tuned for next week as we travel to New Jersey!

  1. Glad to have found your site. Keep up the good work! DB Product Review

  2. Yeah for PA! Any homeschool unit that involves cheesesteaks and sourdough bread is a winner in our book! Being that we're from PA doesn't hurt either! ;) Love the ideas!
