Building the Flat Iron Building that is in New York.

Coloring the state bird and state flower.  These worksheets came from Education.com

We also made a Red Velvet Cake.  This cake was 1st created at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in New York City  around 1900.

Then from the book Draw Write Now, Book 5: The United States, From Sea To Sea, Moving Forward he drew the Statue of Liberty.

All in all a great state to start our study of the USA!  Stay tuned for next week as we travel to Pennsylvania!
