Series: Bible in a Year with your Kids Week #4-FREE Pack

Hello!  I pray all of you are enjoying your bible reading and watching your kids soak in the work of God!

As I am writing this, I am sitting here at Children's Hospital with my 3 month old.  If you would be ever so kind to pray for him and for some answers!  The pictures I am posting are screen shots from my computer.  I am unable to upload my son's finished ones since I don't have my camera or the cord to attach it.

Here is your free printable pack:
Week 4

You can also catch up with us here.

Day 22 Job 1-5
We are introduced to Job as a wealthy landowner.  We see how the Lord allows Satan to test Job.  We find that even with the tests, Job still worships God through it all.
Most of the book of Job (chapters 3-37) is a series of speeches by Job and his three friends.  Job's friends are saying that God blesses the righteous and punishes the unrighteous.  In chapter 4-5, Eliphaz suggests that man brings trouble onto himself because God is always fair.
Day 23 Job 6-9
In Job 7, Job believes he doesn't deserve this severe trial since he didn't do anything wrong.  He doesn't criticize God, but he wants to know why so that he can change his own ways.
In chapter 8, Bildad bases his theory on God's character.  He felt like Job had to have done something to deserve this trial.  Job answers in Chapter 9 by maintaining that he was guiltless.

“He who withholds kindness from a friend
forsakes the fear of the Almighty.  Job 6:14

Day 24 Job 10-13
We still see Job not understanding how God could allow him to suffer.  He doesn't want to carry on.  His heart is telling him that this shouldn't be happening, but his faith is telling him that the Lord is not out to tear his chosen down.
In chapter 11, Zophar says that God cannot be tricked and that no sin can be hidden from God.  Job then gets into theology.  He seems to know that God can do all things!
If you haven't yet, now would be a great time to explain to your kids that God only does things for his glory.  Even if we are put through a trial, he is brought to glorification!

Day 25 Job 14-17
In chapter 14, Job is giving his view on life as that of a sufferer.  Job understands that he will only live one life, but he still hasn't figured out that God doesn't reveal everything to us in this life.
In chapter 15, Eliphaz begins the second round of speeches.  He continues saying that God is always fair and that man brings trials upon himself.  Job's argument in Chapter 16, says that his punishment doesn't fit his crime.  Job continues to feel lost and abandoned.  He feels his life is over.  He seems to be getting more and more depressed.

For there is hope for a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again,
and that its shoots will not cease.  Though its root grow old in the earth,
and its stump die in the soil, yet at the scent of water it will bud
and put out branches like a young plant.  Job 14:7-9

Draw and color a tree.

Day 26 Job 18-21
In chapter 18, Bildad once again tries to tell Job that he must have done something to deserve this trial.  He tells him that it will not stop until he repents.  He will walk in darkness until then.
In chapter 19, we see that Job doesn't see the grave as the end of us.  He has hope for a future but not in the present.
In chapter 20, Zophar gives his second speech continuing that God cannon be tricked and that he sees all sin.
A trap seizes him by the heel;
a snare lays hold of him.
A rope is hidden for him in the ground,
a trap for him in the path.  Job 18:9-10

Day 27 Job 22-24
In chapter 22, Eliphaz tells Job that a person may be able to get away with evil for a bit, but it always catches up with them.  Job continues to want to bring his case before the Lord.  He wants his reputation restored.
Receive instruction from his mouth,
and lay up his words in your heart.  Job 22:22

Day 28 No reading-review!

May you have have a great week digging into the word with your kids and getting closer with our Creator!

Blessings!!

  13. I'm confused - this is the first week with your drawings (week 5 is the same, so it doesn't seem to be the hospital visit of last year when you posted it). In the PDF printable for this week (and next, didn't look further than that), it has your drawings instead of just a blank space and instructions for what the child is supposed to do on that page as in weeks 1-3... HELP?

    1. Okay, redownload the pack and see what you think. I added words that should make it understandable. Basically, they are just supposed to color the pictures. I will check out week 5 as well.
