Welcome back to this months edition of Poppins Book Nook! This month our theme was folktales.
We read the book "The Tortoise and the Tree" by Janina Domanska. We did a lot more verbal activities on this book than we do physical. We talked about listening. How if the other animals had listened to instructions, they would have had the fruit sooner.
I also introduced him to the word glutton. We decided that it is easy to be a glutton for food, especially if you are hungry or it is your favorite thing to eat.
We then discussed sharing. The animals didn't share with the turtle, they trampled him to death. He thought sharing food was better than killing over it.
I then had him draw a turtle and do a quilt like design on it using lines.
