Happy New Year!!

May each of you have a Happy New Year with abundant blessings!!

Weekly School Schedule and New Cleaning chart

I am trying to get more organized for the new year and decided to try an hourly schedule for Conner and I.  We will see how it goes.  I have been so overwhelmed lately, sometimes I don't know where to start, so I thought maybe this would give me some direction.  I also updated my cleaning schedule!

January-March Exercise Chart-Freebie

Well, After having my son a little over 5 years ago and 3 angels in Heaven, I still find myself almost 50 pounds overweight.  This has been my New Year's resolution for the past 2 years, and I have gotten no where with it.  Having been digging deeper into the Word, I have come to the conclusion that I am called to take care of my body.

“Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God?  You are not your own; you were bought at a price.  Therefore honor God with your bodies.”
~ 1 Corinthians 6: 19-20

I know that I have a hormonal imbalance, I know I have Degenerative Disc Disease, I know that I lack a support system of friends and family, but I also know that I have been using them as my clutch all along.  It is time to allow God to control this part of my life and be my support system.
Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God – this is true worship.
~Romans 12:1

The only exercise equipment I own is a recumbent bike.  My goal is to use it 1 hour every evening for the 1st week.  Starting the second week I plan on doing that and also get up early and use it 30-60 minutes in the morning.
Beloved, I pray that all may go well with you and that you may be in good health, as it goes well with your soul.
~3 John 1:2
So, without further ado, here is my exercise chart for January-March.  I plan on logging my weight and measurements every Monday.

I hope it will benefit some of you.  I will be posting my results, so stay tuned!!  Praying to be back to posting a little more regularly next year!  Blessings and Happy New Year!!

Sight word worksheets

It took some time, but I finally got the sight word worksheets done that go along with my sight word color by number!  The link to them is here:

https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B452FBfzAgv3S090Wm84ZzVIUzA

What the worksheet looks like.

First they will trace the word, then write it by themselves.

Then they will color the word.

Circle the word.

Stamp the word.  I got my stamps at the Dollar Store.

Cut and paste the word.

A completed worksheet.
So far they are a hit with Conner and he is learning a new word every 2 days.

My schedule for doing sight words is:

Day 1:
Make the word with play doh.
Color the word
use letter tiles to make the word

Day 2:
make word out of play doh
Sight word worksheet
copy work of some sentences with the new word and other words we have done.

On Friday, we review all words learned thus far.

Blessings!

My Workbox template

This is the template I made to use with my workboxes.  We have a 10 drawer unit that I got from Staples.
Not sure why it turned out so fuzzy! Sorry!!

I print them double sided.  The other side I list any books that I need to order from the library and any extra supplies that I may need to get together that may not already be in the classroom.

Here is the link to it:

John Deere Boy's Room

I have been hard at work on my son's big boy bedroom!  He loves his tractors and so I went about planning on how to make his room all about John Deere.  This was going to be his birthday present, so I had to make sure he knew as little as possible about it without moving him out of his room if I could.  Here is the big reveal:

A little blurry since he was jumping up and down so much!

One happy little boy!!

I moved him out on Friday morning and finished the room up that day.  The only thing he already knew was the colors of his walls and the colors of his trim.  Everything else was completed while he was playing downstairs or outside Friday.  Plus, he enjoyed sleeping with mommy and staying up late to watch a movie!!

He loves to read, so this reading nook has already come in handy!!  The stickers and the border came off the internet.

This sign idea came from pinterest.  The link is:

The wall colors were colored matched at Sherwin Williams with one of his tractors.  My boss found the tractor tire pillow and the comforter at The Andersons in Columbus.  The back 2 pillows were shams that I sewed up and put around 2 other pillows.  The 2 solid brown pillows came from target.  The baskets came from Lowes. I made the furniture from 3/4 inch plywood so it is really sturdy.

The bed and the closet came from Ikea.

We live in an old school house, so some of our walls are 18 inches thick.  Makes for great built in bookcases and more room on the ground!

All in all, he had a great birthday and is still super excited about it.  Before he 'opened' his room, I gave him the ground rules that he had to make his bed every morning and he had to pick up his toys every evening.  He has done an awesome job of that all week!!

Blessings
