Lesson 13 Abraham
He put stars on a paper to represent the sky Abraham saw.
Lesson 14 Jacob and Esau
For this lesson, we made lentil soup. You need:
1 sm onion diced
1 carrot shredded
1 stalk celery diced
1 c water
1 pint diced tomatoes undrained
1/2 c lentils
Next, you add the tomatoes, lentils, and water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 15-20 minutes until lentils are soft.
Season with salt, pepper, garlic, and I added some brown sugar to it. It tasted really good!! It even passed the little man test!!
Lesson 15 Joseph
We tye dyed shirts!! He had a blast with this! He had outgrown his other tye dye shirt from a couple of years ago, so he was very happy to have a new one!
Lesson 16 Hammurabi
We made our own Hammurabi.
Lesson 17 Israelites in Slavery
I had him make his own bricks out of mud.
First, you need to put some dirt in a plastic container and add some water to it to make it moist. Let it set for about an hour. Then I had him get in with his feet and start mixing it up.
Next, I added some straw and had him continue to mix it up.
Next, was sand. Keep walking away!!
Once you get a thick enough consistency, start packing into your brick making containers.
Pack tightly, then flip over and let dry in the sun for a day or two. They really came our great and have help up nicely!
He said he didn't want to have to make bricks that way ever again!!
Lesson 18 China and the Shang Dynasty
I put some yarn and wrapped it around my finger. Then I had him try to unwind it. He found out it wasn't as easy as he thought it would be and ended up with a couple of knots!
We determined why silk costs so much.
Blessings!!
