Poppins Book Nook: King Midas and the Golden Touch with Giveaway

This month's theme for Poppins Book Nook is Greek Myths.  We chose the book King Midas and the Golden Touch by Demi.

In the book, King Midas judged a musical contest between Apollo and Pan.  Pan played a pipe of reeds and Apollo played a lyre.  King Midas awarded Pan, even though he played horribly.  So, for our craft, we made a lyre out of cardboard and yarn.

  4. Just chanced upon this book in the library. As both a morality tale, and a lead in to ancient Greece, it is a great story.
