Curriculum 2013-2014

Well we just finished week 2 of school, and I am absolutely loving all of my choices so far!!  None of my links are affiliate links.  I receive ABSOLUTELY nothing if you click through on them.

This is from Covenant Home.  We are using it for our morning devotion.  There are 125 lessons that span from Genesis 1 to 1 Samuel 31.

Next up is Positive Actions for Christ.  We used this for kindergarten and really enjoyed it, so I thought we would continue on with it for a couple more years.

We are almost half way through AAR 1 & AAS 1.  When we complete them, we will move onto AAR2 & AAS2.

I am using both Handwriting Without Tears and A Reason for Handwriting.

  1. There are some fun things here I'd like to look into! We are doing some of the same things this year already. Have a blessed homeschooling year and thanks for sharing your picks!

  2. Found you from the NBTS blog hop. We are using much of the same stuff for our K5/1st year this year, like Language Smarts B, ARF Handwriting A, AAS 1 and AAR 1. We looked at Positive Action K for Bible, but found something else I liked better (though not until after I had already bought it). How do you like Mathematical Reasoning in conjunction with another math program? Does it work well as a supplement?

    1. I really like Mathematical Reasoning very well! It works well as a supplement, but also adds in extra things and reinforces others. What did you choose for bible instead of Positive Actions for Christ K?

  3. It is called "Telling God's Story" by Olive Branch Books. (http://olivebranchbooks.net/tgs.html) If you want to check it out, there is a short "intro" book by the author. I love the purpose behind it, to introduce Jesus first and focusing on how God has a plan throughout, rather than just the familiar stories and keeping them segregated from the majority of the Bible. It has quite a bit more hands-on activities, lots of blending history projects and craft projects, so if that is not your thing, you may not like it.

I will have to check out MR, but we might be overflowing with curriculum this year! :-)
